DATA PRIVACY & COOKIES

Our site uses cookies from Google Analytics, Google Web Fonts, Google Maps, ShareThis and Cloudflare CDN. This note is also based on the EUs protection directive ePrivacy 2009/136/EC. In Austria this directive was implemented in § 96 par. 3 of the Telecommunications Act (TKG) and the Data Protection Amendment Act 2018.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small files that make it possible to store specific device-related information on users’ access devices (PCs, smartphones, etc.). They serve the user-friendliness of websites (e.g. saving of login data), on the other hand they are also used for recording statistical data of the website usage and to analyse this data for improving the offer. Users can influence the use of cookies. Most browsers offer an option to restrict or completely prevent the storage of cookies. However, we would like to point out that the use and in particular the comfort of use are limited without cookies. Many corporate online advertising cookies can be managed through the US-American site http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the EU-site http://www.youronlinechoices.com/at/praferenzmanagement/ .

How are cookies used?

Our pages use session cookies to store, for example, your chosen language and your display settings (such as contrast and font size). These cookies are removed from your computer when you close your browser. We also use a limited number of persistent cookies. These remain stored on your computer until you delete them or they expire after one year. They contain the following information:

  • state (collapsed or expanded) of some menus and widgets
  • selected tab in the widgets
  • information that allows us to make a web analysis (which pages you have visited, how long you have been on each page, how you found our portal, etc.)

Although accepting cookies is not essential to using the portal’s main features, it makes the browsing experience more enjoyable. You can, however, delete or block these cookies. The cookie information is not intended to identify you personally and the collected data on your browsing behaviour will not be disclosed. The cookies are not used for purposes other than those outlined here.

Control over cookies

You can control and/or delete cookies at will. You can delete all cookies stored on your computer and set most browsers to block cookies. In the latter case, however, you may need to manually make some settings each time you visit a page and accept an impaired functioning of some features.

Access data/server-logfiles

When accessing our website, logs are automatically created by the web server (logfiles). The access data include: name of the retrieved website, file, date and time of retrieval, amount of data transferred, report on successful retrieval, browser type and version, user’s operating system, referrer URL (previously visited page), IP-address and the requesting provider. We use the log data solely for the purpose of operation, security and the technical optimization of the web server. These data can not be assigned to specific persons. These data will not be merged with other data sources. We reserve the right to check this data retrospectively, if we become aware of specific indications for illegal use.

IP-Anonymization

On this website we use the function “activation of IP anonymization”. As a result, your IP address will be truncated by Google beforehand within European Union member states or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the US and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address provided by your browser within the scope of the use of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.
